After School

TELHI Elementary School Academy

On-site care from the last bell, starting the first day of school. Registration is open now. The program is run by TELHI rather than by the school, so registration, tuition and pick-up questions go to their team.

The week

What Happens

Monday to Thursday balances academics, enrichment, and recreation. Friday is Club Day.

Friday clubs include:

Cooking
Animation and digital arts
Fibre arts, including sewing and weaving
Sports, including soccer and t-ball
Game club, with board games, computer games, and group games

Students rotate through three clubs over the year.

Academics

Set hours for homework support, with staff in touch with both families and school staff about how it is going.

Enrichment

Problem solving, critical thinking, and communication through hands-on activities.

Social and emotional learning

Activities that build relationships and self-understanding.

Recreation

Team games and structured physical activity.

Makerspace

Turning ideas into real things, with an emphasis on problem solving and collaboration.

Arts and crafts

Painting, sculpting, and building, with room to experiment.

Collecting your child

Pick-up

Pick up at the front entrance, which stays locked during program hours.
Ring the doorbell or call (415) 421-6443 when you arrive.
Staff may ask for photo ID before releasing a child. It means the system is working.
Someone else collecting your child? Tell TELHI by that morning. Call the program line, or use the address in your registration packet.

Snacks come daily from SFUSD Student Nutrition Services, with a menu emailed monthly. Children can bring their own, nut-free.

Full-day holiday program

Some SFUSD holidays have a full-day program at TELHI's North Beach site, 8:30am to 5:00pm, at an additional cost. Bring a packed lunch and a water bottle. Sign-up sheets open about three weeks ahead, and space is limited. Ask TELHI for current pricing.
